Dr. Tim McKee, Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, ART Provider

Tim McKee

Dr. Tim is the owner and clinic Director of Rockwood Family Wellness Centre and has been a licensed Chiropractor, certified acupuncturist and Active Release provider since 1998. Dr. Mckee believes in a multidisciplinary approach to family care, injury management and athletic performance. He applies his knowledge of Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Active Release Therapies and Sport Injury management to assure optimal results for his patients.

As former Provincial and University Varsity athlete, Dr Tim was introduced to Chiropractic while dealing with many personal sport related injuries. Through his 23 years of practice, Dr McKee has concentrated in treating any type of sporting injuries for anyone from the weekend warrior to the professional athlete. He has extensive knowledge when dealing with specific sports such as Running, Biking, Swimming, Golf, Hockey and Gymnastics.

Living and working in Rockwood since 2010, Dr Tim has strived to provide a wellness clinic this small town can be proud of.   Although Dr Tim still loves working with all athletes, he can bring his knowledge to focus on family care and help all residence of Rockwood to feel and live better.  

Physiotherapy

Ingrid van der Meer, Registered Physiotherapist

Ingrid completed her Bachelor of Fysiotherapy in the Netherlands and graduated in 1991 and has passed the Canadian Physiotherapy Competency Exam in 2018.  She has worked in private clinics and rehabilitation clinics in Switzerland and Germany and has a love for sports, especially swimming and ice hockey.  In 1992 she became the physiotherapist of the Dutch National Women's Ice Hockey of the Netherlands and worked with Men’s First Division Ice Hockey teams of Rotterdam and Dordrecht.

As a physiotherapist Ingrid has the opportunity to help people of all ages maintain their health, manage pain and improve their wellbeing in many areas of practice by promoting a healthy lifestyle suited to everybody’s unique personality.

Massage Therapy

Taylor Smith, BSc Kin, Registered Massage Therapist 

Taylor is a registered massage therapist, who recently graduated from Ontario College of Health & Technology. She completed her undergraduate studies at Lake Superior State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in human performance and rehabilitation sciences. While at LSSU she also completed an Associates Degree in Health & Fitness Specialist. 

She has experience in coaching female ice hockey and volleyball at multiple skill levels, in addition to working with NCAA athletes during her undergrad. Taylor has vast knowledge in a variety of athletics due to her multi-sport background. Taylor is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and helping people achieve their goals in all age groups. She believes active rehabilitation will play a big role in rehabbing injuries and incorporates it along with her treatments. 

Taylor is from Northern Ontario and has a passion for the outdoors and animals. In Rockwood, you can find her outdoors with her dog, Bacardi and cat, Thunder. 

Massage Therapy

Rebecca Hartlen, B.Sc., M.Sc.   Registered Massage Therapist

Rebecca is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from the Ontario College of Health & Technology. She also holds a B.Sc. (McMaster University), an M.Sc. (McGill University) and has a previous career in research.  After staying home with her two children for 15 years, Rebecca decided to go back to school for Massage Therapy in 2019.

Rebecca combines her education, experience, and a variety of techniques to deliver treatments to promote healing and enhance the quality of life and well-being of her clients. Rebecca believes that good communication with her clients is the key to success, and she works to develop treatments and treatment plans that are tailored to their ongoing, specific goals.  Rebecca welcomes the collaboration that is possible at a multidisciplinary clinic to provide the best possible care for her clients. 

Rebecca is committed to her ongoing professional development. She continues to further her knowledge and skills through continuing education workshops and keeping up with current research in massage therapy.   

Rebecca has lived in Rockwood since 2020.  When she is not working, Rebecca spends much of her time outside enjoying the four seasons. She has a passion for cycling, but also enjoys hiking and skiing.
